Ping G730 Irons - Graphite
The primary objective of the PING G730 Irons was to maximise distance, making them PING’s longest and most forgiving iron to date. This emphasis extends beyond mere distance, aiming for maximum height and increased forgiveness, especially for shots that land and remain on the green.
By utilising hyper 17-4 stainless steel and heat treating techniques, PING engineers managed to thin the face, enhancing flexibility and lowering the centre of gravity (CG). This innovation results in higher launch shots and gains in ball speed of up to two miles per hour, translating to an additional five yards of distance.
The G730 Iron's larger head and wider sole, as part of the investment cast design, enhance the Moment of Inertia (MOI) in both directions, thereby enhancing forgiveness and accuracy. Golfers will also notice increased offset, and the cavity-back design includes the PurFlex cavity badge, known for improving feel and producing a more resonant sound upon impact.
Custom-engineered lofts have been introduced to increase distance while ensuring optimal distance gapping. Additionally, the set includes four wedges with machined faces and grooves for enhanced control. The availability of power and retro spec lofts provides fitters with further opportunities to refine performance.
By utilising hyper 17-4 stainless steel through heat treating, we strategically reduced the face thickness and optimised its structure to enhance flexibility and lower the centre of gravity (CG). This approach results in shots that launch higher, with increased ball speed, providing an additional five yards of distance on average.
The cavity-back design is enhanced by the reliable PurFlex cavity badge, which not only improves feel but also generates a more resonant sound upon impact. Additionally, multiple flex zones enable greater flexibility, facilitating increased ball speed across the face and delivering longer results.
The PING G730 is available in 5 through 9 irons, pitching wedge, U-wedge, and 50° and 56° wedges. Each of the four PING G730 Wedges is equipped with machined faces and grooves to enhance control and ensure consistent results in various playing conditions.
Customised loft configurations are designed to maximise distance while carefully considering the gap between clubs. The choice between power and retro spec lofts provides fitters with additional opportunities to fine-tune performance. Furthermore, tungsten toe screws and shaft tip weights enable precise adjustment of swing weight.
The larger head, increased offset, and broader sole in the investment cast construction elevate the Moment of Inertia (MOI) in both dimensions. This enhances forgiveness, providing superior stability and accuracy in this top-tier game-improvement design.
